Improved visa facilitation in Asean member states could yield between six and ten million additional visitors by 2016

This is what the World Tourism Organisation and the World Travel and Tourism Council said in a report, which analysed the impact of visa facilitation in Asean member states.
The report also found that easier visa facilitation could lead to additional tourist receipts of up to $12 billion.
The increase in visitors would be due to improved visa application procedures, which are part of plans for the creation of the Asean Economic Community.
The number of jobs created by means of these measures is estimated to range from 333,000 to 654,000, the report said.
