August’s object of desire – The Renault Clio
Every year, about 70m cars and 40m motorcycles are made, but the idea of combining the two has rarely been explored. Until now. Fans of safety and staying dry will be delighted, as will petrolheads who want a little more oomph than that provided by a Renault Clio.
The $104,000 Monotracer-E, built by Swiss company Peraves AG, has been 30 years in the making and it shows. Fully electric, it seats two people and can achieve speeds of up to 240km/h. Also boasting leather interior, a luggage compartment and optional air conditioning, hurtling along on two wheels has never been so comfortable.
