Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei is planning rapid expansion of its market presence in Cambodia

The world’s second largest telecoms equipment maker, Huawei recently launched its latest Ascend Smart phone and Mediapad series in Cambodia, where it hopes its Android smart phone market share growth will increase to  20% by 2013 and 40% by 2015.
“Huawei is building upon Cambodia’s fast growing market to promote the Huawei brand by introducing cutting-edge technologies and products at competitive prices, fitting an increasingly sophisticated, quality conscious and innovation-hungry market,” said Cary Yang, CEO of Huawei Cambodia, in a press release.
Huawei will introduce its next generation Mediapad 10FHD to the Cambodian market in the fourth quarter of 2012, retailing at a little over $400. Huawei currently holds a 7% global market share in the Android market.
