The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has appointed Amando Tetangco Jr., the governor of the central bank of the Philippines, as chair of its Asian Consultative Council

Amando Tetangco Jr. succeeds the governor of the Bank of Korea, Choongsoo Kim, and will hold the office for two years, the organisation said.
The council comprises the governors of the BIS member states’ central banks in the Asia-Pacific region and aims to facilitate communication between the institutions.
It also provides guidance for the research and banking activities of the Asian representative office of the BIS.
Before joining the central bank of the Philippines in 1974, Tetangco was connected with the management services division of accounting firm SGV & Co.
