See how the only supermoon of 2017 lit up Southeast Asia

This was the first in a trilogy of ‘supermoons’ predicted to be on the horizon, with the next two set to appear early in the first month of 2018
On Sunday night, iconic landmarks across the world were lit up by what is now commonly being referred to as a ‘supermoon’.
In essence, these lunar occurrences are just full moons, but what really sets them apart is the sheer size that they appear to be for us spectators on earth. During these supermoons, the moon comes the closest to the earth that it will ever be in its orbit, which gives it the appearance of being much larger than it typically is. In scientific circles, this is called the perigee.
